In 2019, our three founding member organizations put the uCANRise Theory of Change and Promising Practices to the test.

Based on their findings, we are building a roadmap of 12 Takeaways and Next Steps for future work by college access and success direct-service organizations to support student-led movements for educational equity. uAspire saw the opportunity for advisors to use their text-based relationships to educate students about the many ways to engage in advocacy on their campuses, while at the same time capturing knowledge and growing the capacity of uAspire advisors to serve as a bridge between students and student-led groups and resources.

 
 
 

The experience of implementing Changemakers has led SoCal CAN to the goal of developing a student-centered policy agenda with strong input from student Changemakers that will focus the network for the duration of the next two years.

 
 
 

While Students Rising Above knew that their model was rooted in empowerment, they wondered how they could articulate empowerment within their work, particularly in terms of quantifying and collecting stories that might be useful to other student access and success direct-service organizations.
